The Hawaii Museums Association (HMA) is a non-profit corporation
founded in 1968 that strives to be a catalyst for the exchange
of information and ideas among museums and related institutions
in Hawaii; promotes and develops professional standards for Hawaii
museums through an ongoing program of professional training and
publications; stimulates interest in and promotes information
about museums as important educational and cultural centers;
conducts and encourages research and disseminates findings related
to the museum field.

Headquartered on Oahu, the SFCA is the official arts agency of
the State of Hawaii and its duties include the stimulation, guidance

A two-story Victorian structure built in 1838 for Hawaii's first
governor - great koa wood furnishings. Entry charge.
JAGGAR MUSEUM

Tel. (808) 985-6049. The Thomas A. Jaggar Museum, located about
three miles from the park entrance, offers earth science displays
and features murals depicting Hawaiian culture. An adjacent overlook
offers a panoramic view of Kilauea Caldera and Mauna Loa.
